Raggedy Ann and Andy: Johnny Gruelle created Raggedy Ann in 1915 for his daughter Marcella. She brought him a rag doll and he drew a face on it. The dolls name was inspired by two poems by James Whitcomb Riley, "The Raggedy Man" and "Little Orphant Annie".
